It is a fact - certainly not a surprise to any that know me - that I have a bit of a "thing" for Mr. Poe. As a writer and lover of words myself, who reads horror and is fascinated by the macabre, his work and life pique my interest. So too have I long known I am a stranger amongst strangers, forever thinking strange thoughts and dreaming strange dreams. I've always been okay with "not fitting in" (cuz' normality is boring, folks, and not being true to you is a grievous thing), and I often wonder how Poe carved his own trail amongst society and peers. I bet he caught a lot of sideways glances, and I bet he remained unconcerned. I identify with his penchant for "causing a flap."
So I searched for a fragrance that "made me see purple." Yeah, can't explain it, but that's Poe to me. I was ecstatic when I finally found it - a dreamy mysterious dark unisex blend that made me see purple when I inhaled (heh), and the word "Edgar" went screaming through my head. Now, you may agree or disagree with my assessment, but I truly hope that we won't differ on the opinion that this fragrance is sultry, mystifying, and darkly intriguing. Say "good day" to my Mr. Poe artisan soap! ;)

SCENT DESCRIPTION / STRENGTH: A dark and mysterious blend of midnight plum, leather (yes!), black violet and vanilla, with aged patchouli and musk.
I would classify the retention of this fragrance as LIGHT to MEDIUM.

- Our soap is handmade in small batches, which means no two bars are alike. Please account for natural variation from the photos shown on the site.
- Whispering Woods Soapery lets their soap bars cure for a minimum of 5 weeks, lending to a harder and longer-lasting bar. However, as handcrafted soap (with lots of glycerin as a natural byproduct), the bar should definitely be kept dry between uses. For best performance, please keep soap out of the spray of water and on a well-draining soap dish. We promise you it will be happier this way!
- While an impression is given on specific soap scents, please take into account that our favorite smells may not necessarily be yours. This also pertains to our scent categorization.
- Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
- Soaps that are dark or have bright colors may lead to some fun and interestingly-colored lather. Don't be surprised! :) Although we personally have not experienced staining in our testing, you may want to avoid using lighter-colored washcloths (just in case).
- You can always cut a soap bar into smaller pieces for easier handling.
