BEHIND THE MAGIC

 

Greetings! I am Kimberly—artisan soapmaker, burgeoning herbalist, and founder of Whispering Woods Soapery/Emporium. 

What blossomed during the COVID-19 pandemic took root as more than a business; soapmaking became both a healing practice and a form of self-expression, cultivated through more than six years of research and hands-on practice. 

I fell in love with soapmaking because it brings together so many curiosities: botany, storytelling, visual art, chemistry, creativity, and mysticism. My work may wander through the woods and brush against the supernatural, but it remains firmly grounded in practical knowledge, safety, and craftsmanship.

Inspired by folk traditions, herbal lore, and the esoteric, my work explores themes such as our connection to the natural world and feminine resilience. My practice draws from the shared body of knowledge passed between modern makers and the generations of wise women who came before us.

Unique and imbued with intention, my creations are simple pleasures that delight the senses. Each bar is made by hand via the cold-process method using quality, sustainably sourced, skin-safe ingredients—and a dash of whimsy and smidgen of magic!
